Dimensions: 33 1/2" high X 14 5/8" wide X 14 3/4" depth

Materials: wood with rosewood finish. Inscriptions and seals, none.

From the Estate of the late Dr. Harvey J. Howard - Author of the book - 10 weeks with the Chinese Bandits
During Dr. Howard’s tenure at Peking, China he was kidnapped by Manchurian bandits in 1926 and held for $100,000 ransom. He was held for ten weeks
and despite the gang’s threats, Dr. Howard escaped largely due to Dr. Howard’s ability to speak fluent Chinese and by treating the kidnappers’
medical ailments. Upon his release, Dr. Howard wrote Ten Weeks with Chinese Bandits, an accounting of his adventures during his captivity.
